Binh Duong Youth Federation – A fellow of the youth

On 29th Jan, Binh Duong province Youth Federation honorably received the second-ranked Labor Medal awarded by the President, because of achievements in activities and youth movements, especially, positive contributions to gathering, educating young generations.

Many efforts to unite, gather the youth

According to provincial Youth Federation’s Chairwoman Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, as the permanent unit implementing the project uniting young workers in the period of 2011- 2015, in recent years, the unit has gathered 50,000 young workers to participate in activities of youth branches at lodging houses, non-state enterprises. Thereby, youth branches increased propaganda, education of Party guidelines, and State laws.

Youth branches has also created more playgrounds, uniting young ones, contributing to ensuring social security and order, reducing strikes, slowdowns. In addition, annually, youth branches offers over 1,700 gifts to young workers cannot return home on Tet holidays, costing more than VND500 million/year; gave bus tickets to migrant poor workers to return home. Migrant young workers supporting fund also gives annually gifts to disadvantaged young persons at localities worth VND871 million...

Besides, during “The week of Binh Duong young workers”, activities for young workers were promoted, such as: giving gifts to migrant poor workers, cultural shows, job transaction floor, free health check-up, medication for workers. Provincial Youth Federation in collaboration with provincial Young workers and Labors Supporting Center held Young Worker Market Day with more than 200 stalls, attracting a large number of young participants.

Care for specific objects

The highlight in provincial Youth Federation’s activities is activities taking care of specific objects, such as: ethnic, religious young persons, prisoners, rehabilitated objects through cooperative programs with provincial police, prisons, educational institutions, especially, activities coordinated with provincial Buddhist Sangha, Chinese Bangs, , social work at the Cham village (Dau Tieng district)…

“Lighting up the rehabilitation dream” was a practical activity creating beliefs at young prisoners.

Through Beliefs Lighting Club, youth branches have gathered young persons after fulfilling imprisonment, rehabilitation to join meetings and activities; educated, introduced jobs, created healthy playgrounds, helping these specific ones reintegrate into the community.

Provincial Youth Federation has also focused on education for prisoners through the program “Lighting up the rehabilitation dream”. Young prisoners had opportunities to meet and discuss with rehabilitated young ones, leaders of Beliefs Lighting Club, and businesses to have a more optimistic look, generating confidence and motivation for learning, improvement progress.

Volunteers for social security

Provincial Youth Federation and affiliates have promoted their role to ensure social security. Young Physicians Association, Advanced Youth Club, Trainer Council, Young Entrepreneurs Association… have performed effectively assigned activities and tasks.

Annually, Young Physicians Association gives free health check-up, medication for over 5,000 persons; Young Entrepreneurs Association offers 15-20 houses to needy families. Particularly, through the international voluntary program at Champasak province (Laos) in 2013, provincial Youth Federation coordinated with Young Physicians Association, Young Entrepreneurs Association offered free health check-up, medication, gifts to Lao poor persons with a total cost of VND200 million. This was the first international voluntary program but left deep impressions, increasing friendship between the two countries. 

In addition, programs of “Voluntary Saturday”, "Blue Sunday" cleared roads, gravestone houses, monuments, school gates, offices, removed illegal billboards, installed propaganda panels on environmental protection. Provincial Youth Federation has promoted a high sense of voluntariness for community life of youth in the province.
