Checkpoints, patrol teams for Covid-19 prevention and control deployed

On June 7, Nguyen Hoang Thao, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee promulgated a plan on "Deploying the operations of checkpoints and patrol teams for Covid-19 prevention and control".

Accordingly, the province will arrange 3 checkpoints on arterial streets, namely National Highway 13 (from Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Duong), My Phuoc - Tan Van expressway (from Dong Nai to Binh Duong), National Highway 1K (from Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Duong). Provincial Police Agency has been ordered to coordinate with localities and functional units to be responsible for the location of checkpoints. The task of the relevant forces is to inspect and control the implementation of the Article 53 of the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases with focus on checking and controlling the movement of people and vehicles into Binh Duong province; making medical quarantine for people moving into the province; inspecting the implementation of personal protection and measures against the pandemic under the guidance of the health sector; detecting and handling cases violating regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.

Along with setting up 3 checkpoints on arterial streets, the province will also arrange a patrol team to check Covid-19 prevention and control epidemic on inter-provincial and arterial streets. Meanwhile, based on the local real situation, the Steering Committees for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in districts, towns and cities will recheck and arrange checkpoints for pandemic prevention and control at the remaining streets, including alleys bordering provinces and cities where there is the spreading of Covid-19 in the community; wholesale markets, traditional markets, bus stations, ferry piers across Saigon and Dong Nai rivers, rest stops, supermarkets, and trade centers. The checkpoints work around the clock from the date of issuance of the plan until there are new requirements on Covid-19 prevention and control.
