Coming back Vinh Loi war-zone

Along with Thuan An Hoa war-zone, Vinh Loi war-zone in Tan Uyen district’s Vinh Tan commune was set up in early years of the anti-French resistance war. Vinh Loi war zone is a symbol and pride of Tan Uyen district’s Party people and armed force.

Heroic years

Vinh Loi war zone is away several kilometers from hub of Vinh Tan commune. The war zone is now surrounded by immense rubber plantations.

Vinh Loi was used to be a hamlet of Vinh Tan commune in Tan Uyen district. In 1946 Vinh Loi war zone was divided into 3 big jungles in Vinh Tan commune. The war zone was surrounded by 2 streams of Vinh Loi and Cai. The war zone was linked with D war zone and Thuan An Hoa war zone. After establishment, Vinh Loi war zone rapidly became a headquarters of the locality. The war zone held also revolutionary forces including key soldier force, concentrated guerilla and communal and hamlet guerilla.

During the anti-French and anti-American resistance wars, Vinh Loi war zone witnessed many important events. Here marked heroic glories and contributed many human physical strengths and materials to the Vietnamese revolution.  

Green on a war zone

Visiting Vinh Loi, Vinh Tan of today, every one easily witnesses a rapid change. Immense rubber plantations have created a vital green. Doan Minh Tuan, vice chairman of Vinh Tan commune People’s Committee, said in recent years, stabilized-rubber prices have helped improve local residents’ life. Nearly 100% local households have planted and lived on rubber plantations.

Aside from rubber trees, local residents have jointly set up production teams to share experiences and technical advances of farming. Nguyen Tan Hoang, a farmer in hamlet 4, said joining in the production teams, he approaches high economic models of vegetable growing. In 2010, he planted 3 crops of cucumber with an income of over VND100mil.

Vice chairman Doan Minh Tuan, said the locality enjoys a continuous decline of poor household rate. In early 2011 the whole commune had 70 poor families in line with the provincial new poverty line and in the first half of this year there were 10 households escaping poverty. “Expansion of VISIP II in Vinh Tan commune has facilitated local job generation and opened chances for local residents…”, added Tuan.
