Early May 22, Chair of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Le Thanh Cung and Deputy Chair of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem and representatives from departments and sectors had a conference listening to semi-final reports of social housing program in 2011-2015 of Department of Construction. Under the reports, the targets to 2015 are for construction coverage of about 1,750,000m2 of housing for about 175,000 people. From 2011 to date, the provincial authority has approved 50 project of social housing, offering 69,727 apartments to 179,171 people. By now, only 6 projects have been completed, putting into use 4,258 apartments.Addressing the conference, Chair of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Le Thanh Cung put it that the outcomes have been bright and significant to socio-economic development of the province. Based on the achievements, he called for functional agencies to evaluate, do research and implement provincial policies to develop social housing for the time to come.Reported by T.
