Dau Tieng takes good care of policy beneficiary families

According to statistics, Dau Tieng is now home to 1,284 policy beneficiaries, including 475 martyrs, 427 war invalids, 123 sick soldiers, 123 those who rendered services to the revolution…

Along with the Party and State’s preferential policies, Dau Tieng district has actively taken good care of Vietnamese heroic mothers, the families of martyrs and war invalids, those who rendered services to the revolution…The local policy beneficiary families enjoyed allowances of VND70.7bln over the past 5 years. The district’s leaders also visited and presented nearly 21,500 gifts worth VND12.5bln to policy beneficiary families on Tet and great holidays.

The district’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs over time also implemented some preferential policies for the local policy beneficiary families. Under the Joint Circular No.17 issued by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health, Dau Tieng district granted 2,300 health cards to policy beneficiaries and their relatives…

The district has also attached special importance to the movement of building gratitude houses for policy beneficiary families. Particularly, the district mobilized organizations and individuals to build 62 gratitude houses with total expense of more than VND1.5bln, and upgrade 121 others with total expense of VND2.85bln. The district also mobilized economic units to maintain 12 Vietnamese heroic mothers and 5 seriously wounded soldiers with monthly allowance of VND200,000 or VND300,000 per person.

With the above efforts, Dau Tieng district now have no more poor policy beneficiary families under the province’s new poverty line. The district has also basically eradicated temporary houses for policy beneficiary families. As of June, 2012,  there were 57 policy beneficiary families with richness, 276 with moderately good living standards, 888 with average living standards and 16 living in difficulties. The average monthly income of the local policy beneficiary policies was between VND1.5mln and VND1.6mln.

Under the principle “when drinking water, remember its source”, Dau Tieng district has so far built a martyrs’ cemetery together with 6 monuments to commemorate martyrs in communes of Thanh An, Thanh Tuyen, Dinh Hiep, An Lap, Minh Thanh and Dinh An. The district over time gathered 22 sets of martyrs’ remains at the local martyrs’ cemetery, lifting the total number of martyrs’ tombs herein to 630…

In the coming time, Dau Tieng district will further coordinate with the local Fatherland Front Committee and other mass organizations to mobilize economic units to build gratitude houses for policy beneficiary families; strive to raise the ratio of policy beneficiary families with good, moderately good and average living standards to 4%,  30% and 66%, respectively; achieve a target of having 100% of communes and wards excelling at taking care of the families of war invalids, martyrs and those who rendered service to the revolution…
