On the afternoon of May 16, Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice- Chairman of provincial People's Committee, Head of provincial Steering Committee on Environmental Protection and Climate Change Combat chaired a conference to approve a draft plan on protecting the environment and combating climate change for the period of 2021-2025 and report results done in 2022.
According to a report by provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DoNRE), in 2022, there were 19 out of 27 priority investment projects, with many items in each project completed or under construction, total investment capital disbursed at nearly VND2.18 trillion; 14 out of 16 key tasks implemented, with 2 tasks completed as the basis for the next steps in the coming time; 11 out of 16 ongoing tasks; 3 tasks not being implemented, due to the need for adjustment; total cost for the implementation of tasks in 2022 at over VND3.74 trillion. Provincial DoNRE also presented the content of the plan to adjust environmental protection and response to climate change. Specifically, provincial DoNRE added 16 more targets, bringing the total number of targets to 24. There will also be 41 projects prioritized for investment (up 14 projects), 21 key tasks implemented (up 5 tasks), total cost of about over VND38.9 trillion, an increase of over VND12.89 trillion. Delegates also contributed ideas to the draft plan on protecting the environment and combating climate change for the period of 2021-2025...
Concluding the conference, Mr. Dung spoke highly of the content of reports and opinions of departments, districts and towns. He also asked for provincial DoNRE to summarize, record contributive ideas, review targets, tasks and projects to complete the plan soon and submit it to provincial People's Committee for promulgation.
