Effectiveness from civilized urban lifestyle construction

After more than two years of civilized urban lifestyle construction with concrete programs, Thuan An city has reached a more and more spacious, civilized and modern urban image with the lives of people improved.

Thuan An city has promoted the model of “friendly government, friendly workplace” in 12 administrative agencies and 10 communes, wards. Doan Tan Dung, Head of the city’s People’s Committee Office said that the model has contributed to raising officials, civil servants ‘awareness and responsibility in dealing with administrative affairs for the local people.

Thuan An city’s Labor Union has also strengthened propaganda and education, raising officials, civil servants ‘awareness; attached special importance to building a healthy cultural environment among enterprises. City-based enterprises have so far built football grounds, made investment in equipment for laborers ‘demand for culture.

Civilized streets

Nguyen Thanh Son, Deputy Head of Thuan An city’s Urban Management Office said that the office has coordinated with the city’s Youth Union, Women’s Union, Farmers ‘Association, War Veterans ‘Association and the People’s Committees of Lai Thieu, Binh Nham, Hung Dinh and An Thanh wards to implement the model of “civilized urban street’ on 3 streets, namely CMT8, Nguyen Van Tiet, Nguyen Trai, thereby contributing to raising public awareness of realizing the city’s civilized urban lifestyle.

Over the past two years, the city upgraded pavements, planted green trees, improved lighting systems, upgraded 15 streets of Nguyen Van Tiet, Nguyen Trai, Phan Dinh Phung…with  total expense of more than VND64.8billion. The city’s Division of Culture and Information teamed up with the People’s Committees of Lai Thieu, Hung Dinh wards to bend on eradicating illegal advertising boards on streets in 12 quarters; organized 26 programs eradicating 16,066 illegal advertising boards, leaflets on Binh Duong Avenue, 22-12 and Ho Van Men streets…

In addition, city-based mass organizations organized propaganda activities, contributing to constructing civilized urban streets. For example, the city’s Farmers ‘Association engaged activities in environmental protection, comprising of eradicating illegal advertising boards, mobilizing people to keep environmental hygiene…The city’s Youth Union also launched the model of “Youths taking part in civilized urban lifestyle construction in Lai Thieu ward; realized a propaganda program “For a civilized city”; implemented civilized urban streets, model youth ones in communes, wards…

Nice, clean and safe city

Together with the above programs, Thuan An city over the past time carried out a program on nice, clean, safe urban construction. Accordingly, the city’s police agency instructed its units to have close coordination with relevant units to regularly make patrols to ensure traffic safety, inspect and handle wrong cases in the domains of traffic safety, urban order and civilized urban lifestyle. The city also organized 266 propaganda shows on traffic safety for more than 32,000 people; carried out 710 inspection tours on urban-construction order, traffic safety and environmental hygiene; handled 252 wrong cases involved to civilized urban construction with total fine of more than VND960million.

Nguyen Thanh Tam, Chairman of Thuan An city’s People’s Committee said that the efforts by the local administration plus consensus from sectors, mass organizations and people have positively affected fields in social life, economic development of the city. Also, the local officials and civil servants ‘awareness in building up civilized behavior relations with people has been improved.
