An exhibition of 300 portraits of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers painted by Dang Ai Viet opened at the Vietnam Women’s Museum on July 24.

 The paintings on display are part of her 864 portraits, which she painted during her journey through 63 cities and provinces from February 2010 to June 2012.

This is the second time the Women’s Museum has organized an exhibition of Viet’s work. The first was in 2010 and featured 100 portraits from her first trip through 24 cities and provinces in Vietnam.

The Vietnam Book of Records has twice confirmed Dang Ai Viet as the artist who has painted the greatest number of portraits of Heroic Mothers.

A book featuring all of the 300 portraits in the exhibition was also published on July 24.

The exhibition will be open until September.
