Towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023), provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, Youth Federation Secretariat in collaboration with Aeon Mall Binh Duong Canary has organized a cultural exchange festival between Vietnamese and Japanese youth in Binh Duong province in 2023 with a series of exciting and attractive activities.

Over the past few days, young people could take pictures with the blooming cherry blossom garden or enjoy impressive dishes from the land of the rising sun at Aeon Mall Binh Duong Canary. Nguyen Minh Chau, a worker in Thuan Giao ward shared: “Travelling to Japan is probably just a distant dream for me because of difficult economic conditions. But, over the past few days, I travelled locally with cultural exchange activities between Vietnamese and Japanese youth, held near where I live. Accordingly, I was worn traditional Japanese clothes and took photos with cherry blossoms free of charge; enjoyed Japanese cuisine…”.

The series of activities of the Cultural Exchange Festival between Vietnamese and Japanese youth in Binh Duong province in 2023 will be held in two phases. The phase 1 is from July 1 to 16, with activities associated with the theme of "Tightening emotions towards the future", including organizing a food festival serving guests continuously for 7 days; experiencing about wearing free Yukata, writing Japanese calligraphy on paper fans, folding Origami paper, holding a festival displaying and exhibiting Vietnamese – Japanese, booths on Vietnamese folk games together with special art performances with the appearance of famous singers, Japanese games and many other attractive contents.

The phase 2 is expected to take place from September 8 to 9 with such activities as introducing, guiding and organizing a series of contests on making mooncakes, decorating conical hats - paper fans, bento boxes; arranging Ikebana Ikenobo flowers; drawing cartoon characters of Vietnam - Japan; organizing a Vietnamesee - Japanese ethnic fashion show; holding a lucky draw program with the prize being a trip to Japan, along with many other attractive activities that promise to attract the local Youth Union members.

Nguyen Thanh Thao, Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union said: “The organization of a cultural exchange festival between Vietnamese and Japanese youth aims at raising awareness of Youth Union members in the province about the significance of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, cooperation results of the two countries over the past 50 years and consolidating and developing the fine relationship between Vietnam and Japan in the new situation while creating opportunities for exchange and connection between Vietnamese and Japanese youth. Besides, through the festival's activities, the image of Binh Duong land and people will be widely promoted…”.

Strengthening cooperation relationship

Japan is one of the leading economic partners and the largest ODA donor for Vietnam in general and Binh Duong province in particular. Over the past time, leaders of provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and relevant departments, agencies and organizations also organized many meaningful and practical activities, signing ceremonies for development cooperation between Japanese associations, enterprises and Binh Duong province; organized working visits to Japan…In mid-June, Binh Duong had a working trip with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Tokyo. Vietnam Communication & Technology Joint Stock Company (VNTT) - a member unit of Becamex IDC signed a strategic cooperation agreement with NTT DATA - a member of NTT Japan Corporation in deploying application solutions for Binh Duong smart city and smart industrial park development to serve investors in industrial parks converting smart factories, towards the goal of Binh Duong enterprises mastering technologies and solutions into smart city in a comprehensive and sustainable way, creating opportunities for businesses and investors to upgrade urban areas, industrial parks, factories into the smart and modern ones..., contributing to the local common development.

It is known that in the coming time, the province will also organize many activities, including inaugurating Sora Gardens SC Trade Center and Sora Link Park, the first commercial center in Binh Duong new city in July 2023; organizing cultural-sports exchange activities, especially the "Meet Japan 2023" 2023 that is scheduled to be held in September 2023...to further tighten the affection and relationship between the two countries as well as localities of Japan and Binh Duong province on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Hence, the organization of a cultural exchange festival between Vietnamese and Japanese youth has contributed to embellishing a beautiful picture on solidarity and diplomatic relations between the two countries as well as localities of Japan with Binh Duong province…
