Food Safety peak year in agricultural sector to be launched

According to Plan No. 1004/KH-UBND on the 2016 Food Safety peak year in agricultural sector, PPC required branches under Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to build, organize the apparatus based on recently stipulated regulations, functions and duties; set up specific mechanisms, policies of the province on the management and development support of the production chain; PPC required support production facilities in applying VietGAP production process; build and deploy the project "Construction and development of safe food supply chain in Binh Duong in 2016-2020"….

The specific objective of this plan is to prevent, handle absolutely the traffic, trading, use of illegal substances, overuse of antibiotics in livestock, and prohibited substances, antibiotics in aquatic product farming, storage and processing. Sample ratio of microbial contamination in cattle and poultry exceeded 10% compared with 2015; sample ratio of pesticide residues in vegetables and fruits was below 4%; sample ratio of chemical residues, antibiotics in meat products of cattle, poultry, and aquatic products was below 8%. Ratio of agriculture - forestry - fishery business establishments meeting food safety criteria was over 90%...
