Fragrance of Spring in new rural areas

An Son commune, Thuan An town in the year end seems become more lively because of vehicles full of farm products. Fragrance of Spring overwhelms across new rural areas.

This year, An Son commune people enjoy a great joy because from the mid-2014 the commune was officially recognized as new rural commune. This result is thanks to constant effort of An Son commune authority and people.

Nguyen Thi Hong Van, secretary of An Son commune party committee shared “Through many efforts, An Son has become a new rural commune. We will continue to maintain and improve quality of criteria of new rural commune”.

In all new rural communes, people contribute importantly to this significant program. Many rural traffic roads are launched rapidly thanks to well cooperation of local people.

Vu Hai Ly, chairman of Tan Hiep commune People’s Committee affirmed “Until now, Tan Hiep commune has reached 19 out of 19 criteria of new rural building. This result is thanks to great response from local residents”. Nguyen Minh Chau in hamlet 2, Tan Hiep commune, one of typical households of donating land for making rural traffic roads said “Our contributions were promoted. We will this year enjoy a significant Spring”.

Meanwhile, in Bach Dang new rural commune in Tan Uyen town, agricultural models are supported for development. Notably, model of grapefruit growing is much paid attention by local authorities. Thanks to assistance of new variety of grapefruit as well as, technique, fertilizer, productivity and quality of grapefruit are improved, bringing high income for growers.

In An Son commune, functional agencies focus on supporting local people to develop agricultural models. Many activities of improving orchards are launched drastically. In addition, local farmers are encouraged to build urban agricultural models such as planting orchid, vegetables and more.

In order to obtain the mentioned achievements, Binh Duong has over the past years spent over VND2,019bil for implementing the program. As such, rate of rural traffic roads asphalted reaches 85.5%, rate of rural people using national grid wins 99.1% and 100 of rural people use fixed mobile telephones and Internet and more.

As of the end of 2014, the entire province had 11 new rural communes. the remaining commune reached at least 9 criteria and the number of communes reaching over 14 criteria accounted for 50%. Binh Duong sets out goals to reach 19 new rural communes in 2015 and 49 out of 49 new rural communes by 2020.
