Beautiful pictures

Images of free water, lunch boxes, breads... have made a good impression on tourists in the peak days of this festival season in January. This year, voluntary activities of many organizations and individuals created a good effect, added a plus point to the festival culture.

This year, two days before the festival (14th and 15th date of lunar January), Festival Steering Committee of Thu Dau Mot City had anticipated a large number of visitors to Ba Thien Hau Pagoda, so preparations and organizations were carried out early. Therefore, there was no traffic congestion as well as any difficulties to pilgrims.

During this weekend, many beautiful images were recorded at January festive season this year. For example, Tay Tang Pagoda’s Buddhist group was busy preparing for free lunch boxes on 13 Jan. At Lai Thieu Ba Pagoda (Thuan An), Vuong Vinh Xuan, Vice Chairman of Chinese Liaison Committee of Lai Thieu, said that every year there were 600 - 1,000 free lunch boxes for tourists in morning of 15th date lunar Jan, then visitors would join the procession of Ba palanquin.

On some streets Thich Quang Duc, Cach Mang Thang Tam... there were many points, where local people offered free iced tea, drinking water, vegetarian meals, breads to pilgrims. Also on peak days of this festival, we noted that Bo De Tam charity group still did their daily works, cooking and offering free meals to poor patients. In addition, their members also donated free meals to pilgrims during this peak holiday.

In addition to spontaneous charity points of local people, Thu Dau Mot government had many more formal and voluntary activities in these days. According to Nguyen Thu Cuc, Vice Chairwoman of Thu Dau Mot City People's Committee, this year, voluntary works were gathered in 3 places to ensure social order, security and food hygiene, safety. This will create a better image between the givers and receivers when participating in the festival.

Visitors are pleased

As a visitor, Nguyen Quang Anh Quyen, from Ho Chi Minh City, said that, he visited Ba Thien Hau Temple two days earlier, and was completely surprised when he came to the temple. He received free drinking water, cold towel, incense sticks from young persons, when visiting the temple. Parking was also an issue that worried him. But he was instructed by staff of parking locations, parking fees were reasonable and listed according to regulations.

Tran Minh Tri, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said he was surprised when getting free wifi service at most points at the center of Thu Dau Mot City. "This is a very worthwhile convenience for tourists that local authorities have done during this year's holiday season," Tri said.

Sharing what you have to feel happy is a good thing that we need to do in this life. People in Binh Duong will continue to voluntarily participate in such free activities in order for January Full Moon Festival forever to be a civilized, polite, impressive festival to tourists.
