The provincial People’s Committee vice chairman Tran Van Nam yesterday worked with the steering board of new rural building program to ratify the program for the 2011-2020 period. On survey, 60 rural communes in the province have yet to meet 16-19 criteria of new rural building.

In the 2011-2020 period, Binh Duong will select 29 communes to build new rural areas. The locality will strive to have 6 communes reaching the standards on new rural areas till 2012 and 29 ones by 2015 and 100% of communes by 2020 with an average income of VND36mil per capita per month.

Addressing the meeting, Nam stressed that building new rural areas is a very important task and asked all level agencies to build 29 selected communes successfully and continue building at the remaining communes.
