Hallmarks of educational sector after 40 years

40 years after the national liberation, along with the general development, educational sector has grown constantly. Looking back, educators were proud of contributing to improving people's intellect, cultivating personnel resource to serve the country's industrialization and modernization.

Building up the revolutionary education

After the national liberation, under the Party’s leadership, teachers taking part in the war came back to their schools, forming educational management system and school management boards. The sector promptly trained and completed teaching staff, renovated facilities, and started the new 1975-1976 academic year, reformed educational contents towards socialism.

As a senior educator, provincial Department of Education – Training’s former Deputy Director Mr. Tran Hieu still remembered the educational development of the province. At that time, most teachers went to remote areas, ethnic minorities to universalize education.

These teachers were not afraid of difficulties. They built up schools, came to each household to encourage children to go to school. They built up themselves temporary residences, or lived in offices, health centers. They also did not have many food, had to eat regularly sweet potato, cassava. Despite difficulties, these teachers persevered with schools, pupils. 

Enhancing teaching staff

Teaching staff was also completed to satisfy needs. In addition to revolutionary teachers, teachers of the old regime were retrained, and some teachers of the north were sent to the south for assistance.

Learning conditions of Phu Giao district has been significantly improved.

Over time, provincial educational sector has developed continuously, teaching staff has been improved in terms of quality and quantity. Provincial Department of Education – Training’s former Director Mr. Duong The Phuong said, the sector has made every effort to increase qualified teaching staff, implement educational plans of maximizing pupils’ competence, innovating teaching methods.

Schools system to be expanded

Like other provinces, after liberation, schools system in the province was severely insufficient. Over time, provincial economy has been ascending; school facilities have been invested and expanded from urban to remote areas.

Currently, the number of schools has been increasing, 100% provincial schools were solidified. By 2014, the ratio of schools having more than 2 floors reach 62.44%. Teaching aids, equipment have also been provided adequately to meet teaching needs.

 Improving quality

Education is a top national policy. National development requires investments in education to create qualified human resource. First of all, teaching staff has to be taken care.

According to Mr. Duong The Phuong, all teachers have implemented teaching methods and assessment innovation, enhanced practical skills, creativity of pupils; applied information technology in teaching and learning.

In recent years, teachers have responded positively movements, like: “Two don’t”, "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh”, "Every teacher is a moral example of self-learning and creativeness”, changing teaching staff’s quality, ethics, and personalities.

Emulation movement of good teaching - good learning, intellectual contests have been responded positively by majority teachers and students. In addition, the sector has developed projects, such as: building high quality high schools, improving quality of foreign language teaching in schools; strengthening teaching staff, solidify schools.  

As a result, educational quality has been improved remarkably. 10th-grade enrollment’s quality, high school graduation rate, university admission rate is increasing.

Assessing the development of provincial education and training during 40 years, meritorious teacher Van Van Phe, Di An high school’s former principal, said, the province's education and training has grown rapidly.

Since then, he believed the sector would make huge advancements in the future to fulfill the mission of personnel training, fostering talents, contributing to the development and modernization of the province.
