Houses for students and low-incomers launched positively

The provincial People’s Committee vice chairman Tran Thanh Liem and reps of local Construction Department attended an online meeting on construction work in the first half of this year and discussed measures for the final half of 2011. The Construction Minister Nguyen Hong Quan chaired the meeting.

In the first half of this year, despite difficulties, the ministry-run businesses’ production and business were still maintained with an 18.3% rise from 2010. Localities nationwide launched measures on inflation control, macro-economic stability synchronously.

To excel goals set out in early 2011, the Construction Ministry asked localities to adjust provincial regional planning in conformity with new inter-regional planning, to focus sources on building planning, complete planning on solid waste management in provinces and cities, perfect strategic drafts on housing development.

In addition, the ministry asked localities to launch housing programs for students and low-incomers as well as to issue regulations on granting certificates of construction for residents in need…
