Increasing opportunities for candidates to choose favorable schools, majors

Yesterday (March 27), the Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM) held the 2022 competency assessment exam. This year's exam was organized in many provinces and cities across the country. In Binh Duong, Thu Dau Mot University and Binh Duong University organized 3 test sites, with more than 3,000 candidates.

Attaching special importance to Covid-19 prevention and control

At the exam No. 75, Thu Dau Mot University had 2,000 candidates registering for the exam. In order to create a comfortable psychology for candidates, right from the early morning, they were welcomed with enthusiastic and warm care from young volunteers. Binh Duong University was also selected to organize 2 test sites No. 76 and 77, with more than 1,200 candidates. The school also assigned staff to welcome candidates thoughtfully.

The exam took place amid the unpredictable developments of Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the work of ensuring safety of candidates and those in charge of organizing the exam was implemented strictly. At the test site of Binh Duong University, all candidates entering the exam hall had their body temperature checked while being reminded to disinfect their hands, keep a safe distance from each other...A candidate from Nguyen Khuyen high and secondary school said that candidates must make medical declaration on the application of Covid -19 prevention and control before 48 hours, and must wear masks during the travelling process and the time at the test site. They were also reminded not to gather in large numbers before and after the exam; limit communication and keep a maximum distance from others.

Assoc. Prof.Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Deputy Director of the VNUHCM said that under the regulations of the exam council, candidates being F0 cases, those with symptoms on Covid-19 infection are not allowed to participate in the competency assessment exam. For students who are unable to participate in the first phase of competency assessment for the above reasons, they will be facilitated to participate in the second phase which will be held on May 22 ahead.

Organizing the exam seriously

In 2022, the competency assessment exam will be held in 2 phases. The first phase will be held on March 27 in 17 localities. Over the past years, many universities chose to use the results of the competency assessment exam of the VNUHCM to apply for admission. This form not only diversified their enrollment methods, but also helped schools select candidates with outstanding ability. Nguyen Thanh Tan, a student from Ben Cat high school in Ben Cat town said that participating in this exam, they not only showed their own ability, but also had an opportunity to choose their favorite schools and majors.

The organization of the exam was strictly implemented, due to its importance. Do Doan Trang, Pernament Vice-Principal of Binh Duong University said that the university mobilized 109 officials and lecturers to participate in the exam work. All of them were trained by the VNUHCM. Thu Dau Mot University also mobilized nearly 250 officials and lecturers to participate in the exam work. The school’s Youth Union also deployed a squad of volunteer students to guide and support contestants.

For candidates, they were disseminated regulations when participating in this important exam. When entering exam rooms, they must present exam papers and identification documents to protors. They were only allowed to bring necessary items into exam rooms under the regulations…

The school's staff and lecturers had enthusiastic and effective cooperation, promptly supporting the organization of the exam. At 11:30 a.m. when the exam time ended, all examination activities took place in accordance with regulations and there were no incidents recorded.
