Ben Cat district school bloc’s Red Cross society operation has reached remarkable results, contributing to improve lifestyle and morality among teenagers.

  Poor students are granted bikes

Over years, Ben Cat district school bloc’s Red Cross society has positively joined in charity activities, helping thousands of local poor people, teachers and students overcome difficulties. Rescue activities for natural calamity-hit victims, humanitarian blood campaigns, attention to privileged families, dioxin victims and disabled people… have been spurred. Ho Hoang Nam, the district Red Cross Society chairman, said Red Cross work in local school bloc has reached significant results thanks to efforts of schools directorate and mass bodies.

At present, 37 out of 37 schools in the locality have joined in Red Cross Society with the total members of 3,225. The local society steered its branches to join in social activities and significant movements of raising piggy banks. The entire society has raised 454 piggy banks to raise humanitarian funds. 37 schools raised over VND482mil in the past school year. The money is for granting scholarships to excellent-but-poor students.

Besides, the society mobilized donors to grant bikes, notebooks, scholarships to poor students. The society annually holds gift visits to heroic mothers and privileged families on holidays…

Nam said that the society’s work plays a positive role in care for local people, teachers and students. The society’s operation has received supports from organizations and individuals, helping thousands of poor circumstances overcome difficulties.
