Lighting candles in tribute to heroes and martyrs

A candle-lighting ceremony in tribute to heroes and martyrs on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs was organized at provincial Martyrs’ Cemetery on the evening of July 26. Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese heroic mothers; provincial Party Committee Permanent Deputy Secretary cum provincial People’s Council Chairman Vu Minh Sang; provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Huynh Van Nhi together with leaders of the province’s sectors and mass organizations.

In a solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, provincial leaders laid wreaths and burn license to commemorate heroes and martyrs who fell for the national independence and liberation. Hundreds of youths in green uniform also lighted sparkling candles to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs herein.

Under the moral principle of “Remember the source of water you drink”, Binh Duong’s young people have always got involved in many activities of “Paying debt of gratitude”, including looking after tombs at martyrs’cemeteries; maintaining Vietnamese heroic mothers; offering help to revolutionary contributors; providing free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts for the families of war invalids, martyrs; awarding scholarships to the offspring of poor policy beneficiary families…

Following the patriotic tradition of the elders, Binh Duong’s youth people have constantly implemented many volunteer programs and movements to build and defend the nation. The local youth and children movements have also reached encouraging results over the past time.

Many awards, including the first-class Labor Medal, the PM’s certificate of merit for provincial Youth Union for good performance in the campaign of “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals”; the second-class Labor Medal for provincial Young Pioneer Organization…, have acknowledged the integral efforts of Youth Union officials and members across the province.

On behalf of thousands of youths across the province, Nguyen Thi Kim Mai, Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union showed her deep gratitude to heroes and martyrs who laid down their lives for the national independence and freedom. Upholding patriotic traditions, Binh Duong’s young people have constantly studied and trained, making contributions to the cause of industrialization and modernization for a prosperous and civilized and nice Binh Duong.

Also during the time, the Youth Unions of Di An town, Tan Uyen and Phu Giao districts also organized candle-lighting ceremonies in tribute to heroes and martyrs at the local martyrs’ cemeteries.
