On Jan. 7, the provincial Labor Union's Executive Committee held its 4th conference and summed up its 2013 activity and set out orientation for 2014. Attending the conference were Nguyen Thanh Liem, head of the provincial Committee for Mass Mobilization, Huynh Van Nhi, chairman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee and leaders of departments and agencies and mass bodies.In 2013, thanks to renovation of contents and operational forms, trade union at all levels especially paid attention to laborers and trade unionists' legitimate rights and interests. The entire province had 2,633 grassroot trade unions with 518,224 unionists, so the work on training on legal regulations were paid much attention. Besides, the work on education and promulgation and emulation movements as well as social activities took place lively with numerous contents and forms, contributing to create healthy playgrounds, improving laborers' spirit.In addition, the work on taking care of poor and unlucky laborers has been paid much attention by all level trade unions. Especially, all level trade unions have actively petitioned to the provincial People's Council to steer functional agencies to solve and control businesses' debts of wage and social insurance and allowance for workers. Accordingly, relationship between employers and employees has become better, contributing to decrease 61% of collective labor disputes compared with the same period last year.In 2014, the provincial Labor Union will continue to spur the work of legal building and control and inspect implementation of laborers' legitimate rights and interests.
