Making efforts in building homeland

As an area far from the center of the province, North Tan Uyen district faced many difficulties and challenges. However, after only a decade of construction, the locality has gradually overcome difficulties, well tapped advantages and had appropriate development solutions. The district's socio-economic situation has reached strong and sustainable changes.

Infrastructure hallmark

Recently, we have had the opportunity to accompany provincial delegation in a visit to Hieu Liem commune. A provincial leader said: “Hieu Liem, Lac An, Dat Cuoc, Binh My... were proud names in the fight agaist the enemy. The homeland will not be difficult forever, just keep trying and striving and it will change and develop". The words spoken from the bottom of the provincial leader's heart certainly made anyone who heard them feel proud. To make new progress like today, the Party Committee, government and people of North Tan Uyen always put faith in the bright opportunities ahead, identify shortcomings and take advantage of the local potential and strengths to move forward.

North Tan Uyen is a locality with a low socio-economic starting point compared to the general level of the province, with poor infrastructure... The district has identified investment in developing the local infrastructure system as the most important task to promote the local rapid and sustainable economic development. During the construction process, the district's target is important projects that create breakthroughs and have great spillover impacts, with focus on developing a synchronous and modern traffic infrastructure system in accordance with the province's orientation, ensuring smoothness and safety, especially promoting external traffic axes in the north-south and east-west directions to strengthen the connection between regions.

Since its establishment, the district has focused on investing in 441 infrastructure development projects, with total capital of more than VND 3.91trillion, including 194 traffic projects capitalized at over VND 1.4trillion, contributing to gradually upgrading the local traffic system, ensuring smooth connectivity.

The district's traffic highlight is the project to upgrade and expand DT746 street from Tan Thanh intersection to Hoi Nghia intersection, North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang arterial road and Thu Bien - Dat Cuoc route... This is a key project of great importance to form up a vital traffic axis, linking the region, creating a driving force for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security for the northern districts of the province in general and North Tan Uyen district in particular.

Currently, the district is home to about 73km of provincial roads and 58km of district roads upgraded with asphalt concrete structure. Along with that, there are 1,163 roads managed by communes and towns with a total length of nearly 700km that have been upgraded with cement concrete, asphalt concrete or hardened with red gravel.

New rural green

10 years since its official establishment, North Tan Uyen has written a successful story with the pioneering spirit of overcoming difficulties. The success of North Tan Uyen is a brick contributing to the province's overall new-style rural construction. The appearance of agriculture, rural areas and the lives of farmers in the district have had many positive changes.  The material and spiritual lives of the local people have been significantly improved.

After only a decade, by the end of 2023, North Tan Uyen will become one of the leading localities in terms of productivity and quality of citrus fruit trees. They are also Binh Duong land’s famous agricultural products are delicious, sweet, clean and safe.

During the development journey, the district has paid special attention to promoting production in order to increase people's income. The forms of agricultural production organization have been innovated in the direction of strengthening commodity production links and building specialized production areas for rubber and fruit trees. The Intellectual Property Office has issued the collective trademark registration certificate of "North Tan Uyen orange, pomelo, tangerine", creating favorable conditions for the district to promote and enhance the value of the local agricultural products.

Along with cultivation, animal husbandry is also a strength in agricultural production of the district. Thanks to the application of new technologies in animal husbandry under the plan, gradually forming up large-scale livestock farms with new technical advancements, increasing the value of the local agricultural sector. Under the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) Program, the whole district has had 45 products recognized by the province as OCOP ones, including 3 4-star products and 42 3-star products. This is the progress of the district to help the local products have more competitive advantages in the market and qualify for prestigious business systems. The district’s farming area increased with the value of products increased, consumption market expanded, consumption volume being large and products widely promoted and introduced to all regions.

10 years is not a long time. However, if looking back, everyone can see clear changes in North Tan Uyen. That achievement is the result of the spirit of solidarity, creativity, persistent efforts and determination to overcome all difficulties and challenges from the local Party Committee, government and people.

Nguyen Thanh Thuong, Vice-Secretary of North Tan Uyen district’s Party Committee, Chairman of the district’s People's Committee: In the coming time, the district will further focus on breakthrough programs to implement the Resolution of the  district’s 12th Party Congress, creating the foundation, motivation to strive to complete the goals and tasks of sustainable socio-economic development, ensuring harmony between economic growth and cultural development, well solving issues on social welfare, protection of natural resources and environment. Particularly, the district will promote planning and investment in building traffic networks, especially traffic networks that create motivation and connect the region. In addition, the district will further plan areas specializing in citrus fruit cultivation, meeting conditions to attract investors for large-scale, high-quality agricultural production at the requirements of the domestic and foreign markets.
