Management and protection of mineral resources spurred

In the past year, the provincial department of Environment and Natural Resources implemented 21 inspections; cooperated with the provincial Inspectorate Department to inspect the State management of mineral resources in 3 districts; worked with the local Construction Department to control exploitation of 12 stone mines; checked illegal tapping of sand and landslide on Dong Nai River, Sai Gon River, Thi Tinh River and more.

Through the mentioned inspections, the local department of Environment and Natural Resources fined and confisticated illegal minerals with the total value of more than VND21mn.  

In order to manage and protect mineral resources, the local department of Environment and Natural Resources worked with the HCMC department of Environment and Natural Resources and relevant localities to map out concerted regulation of the State management of water, mineral resources and environmental protection; remind localities to spur management and mineral resource protection in line with instructions of the provincial People’s Committee on spurring the State management on tapping, processing and using mineral resources.

In the last year, the provincial People’s Committee granted licences of sounding mineral resources and more. At present, the local administration has granted 48 licenses of mineral resources exploitation and among others.
