Phu Loi ward: civilized urban area thanks to clever mass mobilization

Along with other localities in Thu Dau Mot city, Phu Loi ward party committee and authority always pays much attention to renovating, spurring the work on mass mobilization in attachment to concrete models.

One of the new ways of the mass mobilization work implemented constantly by Phu Loi ward leaders is to build self-control models in quarter 9. Facing encroachment of pavement in service for business of small traders, the ward leaders set up 9 self-control teams across 9 quarters. Accordingly, these self-control teams will combine with the quarter management board to monthly hold dissemination sessions in a bid to mobilize local people not to encroach pavement and more.

Since the start of this year, the entire ward holds 220 dissemination sessions across quarters; solves 37 violation cases of pavement encroachment. The local work on mass mobilization of implementing urban civilized lifestyle encountered many difficulties in the first period but after that the ward party members and cadres help this work go into real life.

In addition, the work is attached to the movement of studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples. Therefore, through many dissemination and mobilization sessions, local people realize and obey the movement’s activities.

From this model, the ward creates a civilized lifestyle across residential community, mixing with Thu Dau Mot city on the way of urbanization.

Phu Tho ward: cooperation of State and people

During the process of improving dyke across wards along Sai Gon River in Thu Dau Mot city, Phu Tho ward has 5 works. Based on estimate, the total expense of these works is up to nearly VND17bil, accounting for 80% of the total cost of these projects.

In order to execute these projects, local people must donate land along dykes but they will not enjoy compensation because these projects are implemented on the instruction of cooperation between the State and people.

Therefore, the ward party committee establishes 5 social teams at 5 quarters as well as coordinates with quarters’ management boards to mobilize local households to act for the sake of these works. When these works were started, local residents helped builders enthusiastically. As a result, in the rainy season of this year, households in Phu Tho ward did not worry about flooding.

Tan An ward: clean houses, clear streets

So as to keep pace with development trend of a rural commune upgraded into ward, implementing urban civilized lifestyle is focused strongly by the local authority. Tan An ward party committee launches the model of clean houses, clear streets with the purpose of increasing local households’ responsibility to environmental hygiene.

In addition, the ward party committee sets up a steering board to launch this model. Through dissemination, the Thu Dau Mot city party committee’s Directive No.13 and 14 on implementing the 3 clean criteria of clean kitchen, clean house and clear street. The ward party committee in cooperation with agencies and mass bodies promotes role of setting an example of cadres and party members in holding campaigns of environmental hygiene.

To help this model be spread across households, the steering board mobilized mass bodies and agencies, militia forces, the management boards of 9 quarters to disseminate contents of this model throughout localities.

After nearly 2 months of implementation, this model creates positive changes. Many of local households obey regulations of environmental hygiene and now Tan An ward-based garbage is discharged at stipulated areas.
