Measures of inflation control, macro-economic stability focused

The provincial People’s Committee chairman Le Thanh Cung and leaders of departments and agencies yesterday attended an online conference on launching the Government’s measures of inflation control, macro-economic stability and social welfare assurance in 2011. At the conference, Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung focused on 7 groups of measures of inflation control, macro-economic stability and social welfare assurance.

Accordingly, the government will loosen the monetary and fiscal policies to prevent economic downturn and maintain high growth rates as well as keep the credit growth under 20 percent, the total payment methods under 15-16 percent and promote the development of agriculture, exports and supporting industries. Besides, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stressed the importance of reducing the imports of products that are already manufactured domestically and keeping the import over export ratio under 16 percent.

Adjustment of electric and petrol prices in attachment to assistance for the poor was also focused on. Each poor household will enjoy a support of VND30,000 per month, equivalent to the first 50Kwh of electricity. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that ministries, agencies and localities should focus on solutions and available resources for the sake of inflation control. This is the country’s key political task in 2011.
