Over VND16,740bil for new rural building

A conference on launching national program on Binh Duong new rural building (2001-2015) was held at the provincial department of Agriculture and Rural Development on Aug. 10.

At the conference, the steering board of Binh Duong new rural building launched the provincial People’s Committee’s Decision 2030/QD-UBND dated July 22, 2011 on the national program on Binh Duong new rural building (2001-2015) and ratified a draft plan on implementation of the national program on Binh Duong new rural building.  

In 2011, the province will have 5 communes reaching standards of new rural communes. And, there will be 30 other communes reaching the standards by 2015. The total capital for the program is at VND16,740bil.

According to the conference participants, the local progress of new rural building is lower than the entrusted plans. Specifically, the province only completed 3 out of 7 criteria of the program. Addressing the conference, the provincial People’s Committee vice chairman Tran Van Nam agreed on a draft plan on implementation of the national program on Binh Duong new rural building and asked all level agencies to focus on building 30 communes with new rural criteria.

The vice chairman stressed that from now till the end of 1st quarter of 2012, all level agencies should strengthen measures to reach additional 2 criteria in the program, spur promulgation on significance and purpose of the program…
