Phu My ward makes breakthroughs on infrastructure facility

Traffic network perfected gradually

5 years ago, Phu My ward’s traffic system was very poor with most of land roads triggering difficulties for local people’s transports on rainy and hot days. However, in the recent years, a series of roads have been replaced by wide asphalted roads. Till the end of 2012 Phu My ward reached over 70% of asphalted roads, facilitating local residents’ transport.

Pham Van Hung, a resident in quarter 4, shared “My family moved to Phu My ward in 2008. Roads herein are now better than previous routes, many small alleys are now expanded till 5-6m in width. I hope to witness many bigger roads in the coming time”.

Obvious changes of traffic infrastructure facility in the locality has showed a great attention of Thu Dau Mot city’s authority as well as local people’s hi-unity in upgrading, building and expanding routes.

Nguyen Hoang Minh, chairman of the ward People’s Committee said that aside from cooperating positively with local authorities, many residents voluntarily donate their hundreds of meters of land to making traffic roads. Till the end of 2012, over 70% of local routes were asphalted, linking perfectly with neighboring wards, contributing to create a synchronous traffic network. Phu My is now under asphalt work on all alleys.

Spacious schools

Together with development of traffic infrastructure, the ward system of education and healthcare has been focused by local authorities. Vo Hoai Linh, vice chairman of Phu My ward People’s Committee affirmed that school system in the ward has been invested well, meeting local and immigrant people’s demand on learning.

With synchronous investment in school system, the ward has gradually satisfied local residents’ intellectual improvement and contributed to improve quality of education.

  Land roads of yore are now replaced by asphalted roads.

Apart from focusing on school system, local residents have enjoyed improvement of spiritual life through culture, health works. The ward Culture Center has been put into operation with useful activities such as clubs for poem, body-building, football, martial art, etc. these clubs have met local residents’ demand on relaxation and created an environment on finding out and fostering young talents for the locality.

In addition, the ward medical center has satisfied local inhabitants’ demand on healthcare. In 2012, as many as 27,000 turns of patients enjoyed health check-up and treatment at the ward medical center.

Opportunities for Phu My

Located at the entrance gate of Binh Duong New City with many important traffic routes such My Phuoc-Tan Van, Pham Ngoc Thach, Huynh Van Luy, etc, Phu My ward has become a center linking 2 big urban areas of Binh Duong province. This not only creates advantages for local residents but opens development opportunities on areas of service, handicraft and industry. In 2012, the entire ward has more than 500 business households with the total capital of more than VND16bil.

In terms of industrial field, in 2012 there were 74 businesses under operation with the total capital of VND179bil. According to local leaders, this figure will increase rapidly in the time to come.

It is hoped that Phu My will continue enjoying great changes in its process of socio-economic development.
