President Sang begins visit to Sri Lanka

 State President Truong Tan Sang arrived in capital Colombo, beginning his official visit to Sri Lanka at the invitation of President Mahinda Rajapaska.

A State welcome ceremony was held at the capital’s airport by President Rajapaska and senior officials of Sri Lankar to welcome President Sang and his entourage.

Mr Rajapaska described Mr Sang’s visit as a milestone, opening up a new era for the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

Both presidents reviewed the honour of guard while the national anthems of the two countries were played and the 21-gun salute was fired.

The two presidents were scheduled to hold talks on October 14 to discuss measures to strengthen the friendship and all-round cooperation between Vietnam and Sri Lanka.
