Province suspends public passenger transport services, ferry terminals in localities with social distancing

Early June 21, Nguyen Chi Hieu, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Transport said that at the request of Thu Dau Mot city, Thuan An city and Tan Uyen town, the department has sent a dispatch on suspending public passenger transport services to these localities that are under the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 16/CT-TTg dated March 31, 2020 on the implementation of urgent measures against Covid-19 pandemic.

Accordingly, public passenger transport services in the above localities will be suspended from 0 am on June 21, including fixed route vehicles, contract cars, tourist cars, buses  and trucks (except special cases with official reasons and cases of providing necessities, transporting workers, experts of enterprises, raw materials for production in Thuan An city, Tan Uyen town and Thu Dau Mot city’s Hiep An, Chanh My, Phu Hoa, Hiep Thanh wards).

The dispatch notes that for passenger transport vehicles passing through Thuan An city, Tan Uyen town and Thu Dau Mot city’s Hiep An, Chanh My, Phu Hoa, Hiep Thanh wards, they are not allowed to stop for picking up and dropping off passengers and must comply with regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control…

Provincial Department of Transport also requested the operator of An Phu bus station to stop carrying out departure procedures for fixed-route vehicles to the bus station; stop picking up and dropping off passengers at riverside ferry terminals. Public passenger transport services and ferry terminals will resume operations when there are written notices stopping the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Directive No.16 from the above localities.
