Provincial Statistics Department marks 40th founding anniversary

Early June 3, provincial Statistics Department held a ceremony to mark its 40^th founding anniversary (June 19, 1976-June 19, 2016), in attendance of Pham Quang Vinh, Deputy Director General of the General Statistics Office (GSO); Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

After 40 years of construction and development, the department made contributions to the province’s development and Vietnam’s statistics sector. The department sufficiently, seriously implemented tasks entrusted by the GSO while providing socio-economic statistics with increasing quality at requirements for the leadership of provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr.Liem acknowledged contributions by the sector to the local development over the past time while asking for the sector to further improve the quality of statistics, well meeting the demand for information of the local authorities at all levels to serve the local planning task. 

On this occasion, the Ministry of Planning and Investment awarded the certificates of merit to 1 collective and 4 individuals for their excellent achievements in activities of the sector. Provincial People’s Committee also presented a laudatory writing “Friendly, responsible, effective and creative” to provincial Statistics Department together with the certificates of merit to 10 collectives and 25 individuals making contributions to the local statistics sector.
