Provincial Women's Union improves the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy

In recent times, people-to-people diplomacy have received attention from Provincial Women's Union and have gradually improved efficiency, contributing to ensuring the Party's unified leadership and centralized management of the State and the province in the international integration process.

“Binh Duong women with Japanese culture”

The most prominent highlight of people-to-people diplomacy done by Provincial Women's Union in 2023 is the program "Binh Duong Women with Japanese culture" on the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relation establishment between Vietnam and Japan. Accordingly, the program was organized with many specific activities, such as cooperation with “ao dai” designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam to organize performances of two ao dai collections "Tố Nữ” and "Heritage Region", introduction of artworks from Vietnam and Japan were printed and painted on traditional Vietnamese ao dai; The contest "Beautiful photos of Ao dai and Kimono" on fanpage was launched from August 7, 2023. The contest attracted 145 candidates who are officials and members of provincial women's associations to participate in "Beautiful photos of ao dai" and 125 contestants to participate in "Beautiful photos of Kimono". Through the preliminary round, 39 contestants were selected and continued to entering the final ranking round at the opening ceremony. 15 contestants in the Ao Dai costume contest and 15 best Kimono costume contestants were selected to perform in the exchange night between Binh Duong and Yamaguchi provinces.

At the same time, the program also had a drawing contest conical hats and paper fans, attracted the participation of 100 contestants who are officials and women members of 9 units, districts, towns and cities in the province. Contestants demonstrated their talent in painting beautiful landscapes, costumes, and landmarks of Vietnam and Japan on conical hats and paper fans. As a result, the Organizing Committee selected 30 creative pieces with the theme of the Vietnam - Japan event for introduction and display, namely traditional ao dai by designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam to welcome the delegates of the event "Meet Japan 2023" on the evening of September 8, 2023 at Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center.

Truong Thanh Nga, Chairwoman of Provincial Women's Union, said: "The program not only aims to select excellent contestants to attend the "Meet Japan 2023" event but is also an opportunity to promote the beauty of Vietnamese - Japanese culture, honor the charm of Vietnamese women as wearing Vietnamese Ao Dai and Japanese Kimono. This is also an opportunity for Binh Duong women to exchange cultures and gain more knowledge about Japanese culture through Kimono costumes, Japanese culture on Vietnamese ao dai, landscape painting on conical hats and paper fan".

To intensify propaganda

To improve the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy in the new situation, the Provincial Women's Union also enhances propaganda to provide union officials at all levels, women leaders and managers of provincial departments of agencies with foreign policy information of the Party, foreign affairs and international integration of the Vietnam Women's Union; results of the province's foreign affairs and international integration work; as well as Binh Duong's friendly and cooperative relationships with foreign localities in recent times...

The content and forms of propaganda are increasingly innovated and enriched, are delivered through branch and association activities and meetings... In 2023 alone, the whole province organized 1,835 events for 104,367 women members; posted information on foreign affairs activities of the Party, State and leaders of Binh Duong province on social networking sites such as Zalo and fanpage with nearly 50,000 likes and followers.

In addition to regular and extraordinary activities directed by the province, Provincial Women's Union also participated in the delegation attending the Vietnamese Women in Europe forum in Hungary, met with the Hungarian National Assembly Women's Group, and worked with UNESCO, the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese Women's Union in Hungary and France; worked with some partners working on women and gender equality in the two countries organized by the Vietnam Women's Union...

Truong Thanh Nga shared: “In addition to regular activities of people-to-people diplomacy, women associations at all levels also focus on promoting the image and humanity of Binh Duong people through volunteer activities and sharing love to care for vulnerable people, children having difficult circumstances, such as the "Godmother" program to help nurture orphans affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; The "Love Kitchen" club is maintained to help members, women having difficult circumstances somewhat reduce financial pressure...".

The beauty of human love is also shown in good programs of new rural construction, smart, green - clean - beautiful cities combined with environmental protection. An example is the successful implementation of a project named "Assembling social resources in waste reduction in Di An city in the period 2020-2022" supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) with a total cost of over 2.9 billion VND; signed a letter of agreement with the UNDP/GEF SGP Program, handed over the amount of 480 million VND to the Provincial Women's Union to support waste traders in the province after the end of the project.

Those beautiful images have further highlighted the beauty and humanity of the "kind-hearted" Binh Duong people in the eyes of domestic and international friends, contributing to building an increasingly prosperous Binh Duong.
