Reinforcing care for the spiritual life of young workers

Since 2013, after its establishment, provincial Young Workers and Labors Supporting Center has organized more than 100 practical action programs for young workers including activities caring for the spiritual life of young workers.

In mid April, provincial Young Workers and Labors Supporting Center in collaboration with TDM City Youth Union held the preliminary round of the Karaoke Singing contest for young workers at Phu Hoa ward in TDM City. 37 competing performances aroused patriotism, ethnic pride in the heart of every Vietnamese young person. Young worker Tran Thi Hien said: “As joining the contest, I had the opportunity to show my aptitude and was immersed in music after hard working hours. This made me feel myself being closer to the community”.

Workers of Diamond Company (My Phuoc 1 Industrial Park, Ben Cat town) participated in games at the Diamon festival held by the center and the company.

After rounds in TDM City and Ben Cat town, excellent performances were selected for the final round held on May 25th. Performance quality has been focused and improved, attracting the participation of large numbers of young workers. Through this contest, young persons expressed their desire, young strength in production, working, contributing to youth aggregation and solidarity.

Provincial Young Workers and Labors Supporting Center’s Deputy Director Do Van Phung said: “During implementing process, we have encountered difficulties in venues to gather young workers. Besides, the lack of specialized staff has influenced the deployment. On the other hand, funds have been limited. However, after 2 years, the center has organized activities at nearly 30 corporates and young workers meeting places. These activities included culture, sports, festive days, games, loving spring, and so on”.

To promote activities taking care of young workers, the center has also socialized movement. In addition, weekend programs were held at union branches, lodging houses, companies with activities of celebrating young workers’ birthday, folk 4 games, cultural performances to meet cultural and spiritual needs of young workers.

The center has coordinated with Youth Union branches at localities to establish meeting places for migrant workers in order to aggregate young workers in businesses…

"The strengthening of the cultural activities serving the spiritual life of young workers is necessary. In my opinion, we should devise plans to increase healthy cultural, sports activities in order to build up cultural institutions for young workers…”, said Mr. Phung.
