As in Binh Duong Province, some industrial parks in the middle land, and North region of Vietnam offer the same salary amounts to their working staffs. Thus, industrial parks in Binh Duong province are challenged to maintain their labor resources. What should be done?
Building up harmonious relationship
Mr. Nguyen Hong Anh, HR and Administration Manager of Binh Duong One-member Garment Co. Ltd. informed at reporting meeting of textile industry for the first two months of 2015 that challenges have emerged regarding the hard recruitment of labor forces. Of the same situation, non-textile enterprises are facing the same problems as the supply failed to sustain the needs. On resolving the mentioned issues, many enterprises stressed on building up harmonious relationship of them to the working people with attraction as the key matter.
Workers of Dong Hung Industry JSC are working with joy
Having over 90% of working staffs as females, through years, Binh Duong One-member Garment Co. Ltd. has made particular policies to create working environment and take care of material and spiritual lives of their working staffs. In their development, the Company has prioritized for their working staffs who would initiate production and emulation movements. Particularly, the working staffs, especially those living away from home, not only need material support to ease their homesickness. Thus, the Company should offer them suitable playground for them to seek for joy at work.
So as to make the employees see their important positions, for the past time, Binh Duong Provincial Labor Union, and Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) have directed all-level labor unions and local officers to investigate the living and conditions and wishes of the working staffs. Mr. Nguyen Phung Trung, Deputy Director of DOLISA confirmed of workshops held in 2014 on consultancy for effective communication in labor relationship. The workshop envisioned enterprises to the importance of communication with the employees to improve understanding, sharing, and mutual trust. Accordingly, equality and democracy are promoted in all forms of enterprises, reducing conflicts and collective labor disputes, and strikes. Particularly, in the time of labor lacking, communication is one of the ways to help enterprises to attract more employees to stay.
According to Mrs. Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Deputy Chair of Binh Duong Provincial Labor Union, for the time to come, the union would be staying close to its grassroots with enhanced coordination for checking-up and inspection on labor law implementation to detect breaches at the soonest so that proposals would be made to functional agencies for timely resolutions in a bid to build up harmonious, stable, and advanced labor relationship in enterprises. In the meantime, dissemination of information, decisions, and policies of the Party and the State to enterprises and working people should be promoted.
Sharing the same roof
The energetic working atmosphere has helped employees of Dong Hung Industry JSC in Di An Town forget their tiresome to fulfill their duties. Ms. Dang Thi Huyen Trang, a factory worker of the Company, said: “We feel much secured working here as the care is thoroughly offered. Aside from salary and bonuses, the Company leaders know and share up our circumstances. On holidays, we are offered with one-month salary as bonuses and gifts.”
Many enterprises have built up mini malls to service their own workers in a bid to help them through life. Those malls offer not only foods and drinks but also discounted goods and goods of later payments. According to Ms. Dang Hanh Nguyen, a factory worker of Esquel Garment Manufacturing Vietnam Co. Ltd. in Thuan An Town, the working people of the Company are offered bargain mall aside from the salary and bonuses.
Those are activities of labor unions to mitigate hardship for factory workers. At the beginning of each month, the factory workers are issued a list of new foods which can be paid for at their reception of salary.
“We are so glad to have this around. It may be a humble action but can warm everyone’s hearts and those living away from home for us with thousands of things to be worried about,” said Nguyen.
Safety assurance has been focused on. Annually, Yazaki EDS Co. Ltd. in Di An Town organizes training courses on labor safety and fire prevention. Their factory workers are offered periodical health-check and necessary equipment. Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung, Chair of the Company’s Labor Union, said: “We have been maintaining full salary payments and welfare for our factory workers to create a home for them to stay and work. This is our secret of success.”
Many enterprises offer good material and spiritual support for their officers through visit and gift presentation on anniversaries and cultural and sport events in a bid to close the gap in relationship of managing officers to the working people and to make it like home to them.
