Tan Uyen pays visit to Vinh Loi base’s memorial site

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day, Tan Uyen town’s Fatherland Front Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee, yesterday paid a visit to the memorial site of Vinh Loi base, in attendance of Vu Minh Sang, former Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of provincial People’s Council together with the local leaders and people.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates observed one minute of silence, offered incense and paid wreaths at the memorial site to commemorate heroic martyrs. They then continued attending a ceremony to inaugurate a monument for martyrs in Tan Hiep ward; reviewed the tradition of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day and heard the local result of taking care of the lives of policy beneficiary families.

The ward now has a total of 314 revolutionary contributors. Every year, the ward organizes delegations to visit and present gifts to policy beneficiary families, contributing to improving their lives.

It is known that the memorial monument has a total investment capital of more than VND1.5billion with more than 1,000 square meters. It is carved with the names of 25 heroic mothers and martyrs who laid down their lives for national independence and freedom.
