Early March 7, Tan Uyen district’s Women’s Union held a get-together to mark the 104th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8, 1910-March 8, 2014) and the 1,974th anniversary of Two Trung Sisters’ Uprising.

At the get-together, the local Women’s Union’s officials over periods reviewed the history of International Women’s Day over the past 104 years and the Two Trung Sisters’ Uprising over the past 1,974 years.

Upholding the above good tradition, the local Women’s Union over time actively mobilized members to well realize emulation movements in association with realizing the local political tasks and promoting the campaign of “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals”. Members and officials of the local Women’s Union also actively responded to the emulation movement of “Women actively study, creatively work and nurture happy families”; joined hands in building new rural areas with positive results. In 2013, the local Women’s Union also mobilized nearly VND13bln for 3,285 members to develop home based business and stabilize their lives…

Under the campaign of supporting women to build happy families, there were 100% of members to register for implementation of 4 standards “Prosperity, equality, advancement and happiness” in association with the campaigns of building a good family model with “Five Nos, Three Cleans” and “The entire people consolidate to build a cultural lifestyle in residential quarters”…Over the past two years, the local Women’s Union mobilized more than 3,200 well-off women to offer help to more than 2,000 ones with nearly VND4.9bln; disbursed nearly VND39bln in loan from many different sources for nearly 3,000 poor women.
