After the five-year implementation of the campaign “Sentimental attachment to the nation’s border and island areas” in the 2009 and 2013 period, Tan Uyen district’s Youth Union organized more than 2,000 propaganda shows with the participation of nearly 150,000 Youth Union members and pupils.

The district’s Youth Union held a writing contest on “Vietnam’s sea and island areas”. Between 2011 and 2013, the Youth Union also kicked off enlistment camping festivals with the themes of “Island and sea areas are our homeland”, “For nation’s border areas”…; mobilized nearly 300 youngsters to join the naval force, mobilized Youth Union members, teenagers and children to raise nearly VND21mln to the campaign of “Sentimental attachment to nation’s border and island areas-towards Truong Sa archipelago”.

The district’s Youth Union and its affiliates also excelled at mobilizing youngsters to voluntarily make their military service in the nation’s island and sea areas and have a long-term service in the army; launched a program on writing 1,000 green letters for soldiers on beloved Truong Sa archipelago. Especially, the district’s Youth Union Standing Committee acted as an advisor for implementation of the Project “Educating teenagers and children about traditions in the 2013-2017 period”…
