The provincial Women Union turns to poor women

Chairman of provincial Women Union Ms. Doan Thi Dieu Hien, said, topic of this year’s emulation movements launched by Vietnam Women Union is “Follow uncle Ho to practice thrift for sustainable alleviation of poverty” commemorating the 65th year since uncle Ho called upon patriotic emulation. Thus, the emulation movement was launched across the province since March 8th. Owing to “Supporting woman’s home economics” movement, Ms. Dinh Thi Hue at Bach Dang commune of Tan Uyen district obtained stable earningsThe target is to have above 80% of members participating in practicing thrift. By December 31st, the target total saving is VND16 bln supporting loans for 8,000 poor women.Currently, members at localities are saving monthly VND5,000 each person to; female members of army force, offices are monthly from VND50,000 to 100,000 each person. Additionally, provincial women also combat waste at workplaces like economy of materials, electronic, water…Many poor women have been assisted in getting loans with no interest payment by female members of provincial women organizations. In 2012, provincial women unions at all levels lent 28,000 women a total amount of VND110 bln. Besides, poor women can also take out unsecured loans from Social Policy Bank, People Credit Fund and some resources. Unions have helped 100% female householder and 4,657 poor women accessing capital resources.Women union’s organizations have facilitated rising up and parenting of poor women by meaningful actions.
