Supporting Center for young factory workers and young workers has organized a program to offer free traffic tickets for them to return home during Tet.Indescribable joy Receiving the news of being offered with free transportation tickets to return home for Tet, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, year of birth: 1991 and worker to Wonderful Electric Corporation in Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park 1 in Thuan An Town was in tremendous joy for in recent days, she was worrying about to pricy tickets and the overcrowded queues waiting for the purchase of transportation tickets. Mr. Do Van Phung (left), Director of Supporting Center for young factory workers and young workers, hands over a board representing 20 free tickets to representatives of Thu Dau Mot City Youth’s League Hien has 4 siblings who are all factory workers in Binh Duong Province. Her mother has been suffering from cancer back in her home land of Ha Tinh Province. Her father is a farmer.The whole family preserved all their economic ability to treat her.It was problematic for Hien to return home during Tet for the doubled transportation fees and costly stoppage.Hien said: “I was discouraged as reading the news of people get fainted in the crowd pending for transportation tickets. I was luck to receive the free ticket now.”Ms. Le Thi Loan, year of birth: 1992 and worker to Kurabe Corporation in Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park 1 was also pleased to receive free tickets home.In those days near the event, Loan was making efforts to accomplish work at the company to be reunion with her family.Loan was from Nghe An Province where her parents were working on farms of low yields. For this year, she was surprised by the ticket comparing to her low income.She was so eager to tell us about Tet in her homeland before the departure.Sentimental ticketsIn the years, departments and sectors of the province have given good care for working people in Tet, especially the ones being away from home.Each year, Provincial Labor Union frequently organizes trips for factory workers to return home for Tet.For this year, Supporting Center for young factory workers and young workers under the organization of Youth’s League has made great efforts to implement the program of transporting young factory workers home for Tet.Funded by socialization sources, donators have given nearly VND 200 million to prepare 4 45-seat vehicles to transport immigrant workers from Middle Land of Vietnam, including Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, and Nghe An home for Tet.Starting at 6:30 on January 27, 2014 or the 27th of lunar December, the factory workers offered with free tickets home should be gathering at the yard of Provincial Youth’s League to enjoy performances and listen to greetings of leaders as well as receiving gifts before departing.Mr. Do Van Phung, Deputy Director of Supporting Center for young factory workers and young workers, informed that the center offered free tickets and gifts to young factory workers.The free transportation program encourages factory workers as Youth’s League members in difficulties to overcome hardship and emerge as working people contributing to the assurance of social security and development of specific enterprises and establishments.For the years to come, the center shall make more efforts to call for more donations to free tickets home.180 free tickets are of no great amount to thousands of local young factory workers; however, the act of kindness is encouraging.Reported by Ngoc Nhu – Translated by Vi Bao
