Update: 29-07-2024 | 10:35:24

Recently, the education and training branch of Thu Dau Mot City has actively responded to the city greening campaign and been seeking to build a "Green - Friendly City" in the period of 2024-2030 and the following years. After implementing the campaign, the school landscape has changed significantly, and many practical programs have been done and spread strongly by schools.

Spread positivity

Coming to Tuoi Xanh Kindergarten (Chanh Nghia ward), we were really impressed by the green spaces of trees on the school campus. Talking to us, Ms. Nguyen My Duyen, the school's principal, said that the school had developed a plan to implement the plan from 2018-2019 when implementing the theme of child-centered kindergarten and building a cultural and civilized lifestyle. Since then, the school has maintained and developed strongly this program. Recently, the school has greened the entire campus.

“For preschool children, the green - clean - beautiful educational environment landscape makes an important direct contribution to the children's learning process. Creating a green environment provides children with opportunities to experience, explore, and learn, allowing them to acquire knowledge most realistically and effectively", Ms. Duyen said.

Responding to the urban greening campaign and aiming to build a "Green-Friendly City," Phu Loi Primary School (Phu Loi ward) recently implemented the "Plant nursery," with about 600 ornamental and fruit trees planted. In addition, the school has carried out the "Digitizing trees" model. The rows of trees at Phu Loi Primary School have been attached with QR codes providing basic information about the trees including tree name, characteristics, grower's name, planting date...

After implementing the urban greening campaign for two months, the education and training sector of Thu Dau Mot City has planted over 26,000 new trees on the campuses of 56 public schools in the city. The total number of new trees planted by the whole branch since the beginning of the urban greening campaign has reached more than 26,000 trees.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan, Principal of Phu Loi Primary School, shared: “With just a smartphone, anyone can find out basic information about the plants on campus. More than 40 trees and fruit trees of all kinds are labeled with QR codes, allowing people to easily learn about each tree. In addition, affixing QR codes to trees is considered a modern practice in the era of digital transformation for managing trees on school campuses”.

Greening schools improves aesthetics and creates a healthy environment. It also helps make environmental education activities and extracurricular activities inside and outside the school more attractive. Schools in Thu Dau Mot City are wholeheartedly embracing the urban greening campaign to create a safe, green, clean, and beautiful educational environment. This initiative aims to ensure that every school day is a joyful experience for the students.

It demonstrates the branch’s sense of responsibility and practical action to protect the environment and create a green, clean, and beautiful living space for the city.
