2021 is the first year Thuan An city’s Party Committee will implement the Resolution of the local Party congress for the 2020-2025 tenure with the goal of reaching criteria of a first-class city. Hence, the city’s Party, government and people are determined to fulfill the set targets, tasks at the highest level, making the premise for the successful realization of the Resolution of the 12^th local Party congress for the 2020-2025 tenure.

Well realizing 2 major tasks

Despite the impacts from Covid-19 pandemic, Thuan An city last year excelled at realizing 3 major tasks, including effectively implementing Covid-19 prevention and control, taking solutions on socio-economic development in a synchronous way, successfully organizing the Party congresses at grassroots level and the Party congress of the city for the 2020-2025 tenure.

Thuan An city strives to reach criteria of a first-class city

Huynh Thi Thanh Phuong, Secretary of the city’s Party Committee said that thanks to the efforts by the local entire socio-economic and political system, the city basically reached the set targets and tasks in 2020. Particularly, the city’s industrial production value surged nearly 3.8% compared to 2019. The city’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services grew by 10% against the same period last year. The city also focused on basic construction, urban rejuvenation and restoration; made socialization for urban rejuvenation with total expenditure of nearly VND107billion, contributing to bringing it a new urban image.

Efforts right from first year

According to Mrs.Phuong, 2021 is the first year Thuan An city’s Party Committee will implement the Resolution of the local Party congress for the 2020-2025 tenure with the goal of reaching criteria of a first-class city. Hence, the city’s Party Committee and cells must make programs, plans for the realization of the Resolution of the 11^th provincial Party congress and the city’s 12^th Party congress in a synchronous way and strive to gain high results right from the first year of the five-year plan; continue maintaining the local socio-political stability, effectively mobilize resources for socio-economic infrastructure development towards urban development and management, effective Covid-19 prevention and socio-economic development in association with well realizing social welfare, environmental protection, ensuring national defence-security; building a strong and pure Party organization; be determined to fulfill the set targets, tasks at the highest level, making the premise for the successful realization of the Resolution of the 12^th local Party congress for the 2020-2025 tenure.

Accordingly, the city’s Party Committee has set some major tasks, solutions, including implementing policies, solutions in a synchronous way to further remove obstacles in production-business, improving the local investment climate, stabilizing the local economic development; further boosting the shift of economic structure towards increasing the proportion of service sector with focus on promoting hi-quality services in association with urban and industrial development.

The city will also bend on making urban rejuvenation and restoration; tighten control over basic construction; concentrate on compensation and site clearance, strive to carry out some key works, projects in accordance with the Resolution of the 12^th local Party congress; pay more attention to realizing urgent works and ones under the criteria of a first-class city; perfect infrastructure facilities and strengthen IT application into administrative reform in order to enhance the efficiency of State management. Especially, the city will effectively realize a project on organizing the campaign of civilized urban construction and a plan on environmental protection for the 2021-2025 period.

In addition, the city will put focus on ensuring social welfare, taking solutions on sustainable poverty reduction in a synchronous way under the province’s new poverty line; improving the lives of social policy beneficiaries…Here are some major tasks of the city in 2021: industrial production value at more than VND248.78trillion, up 6%; service-trade value at more than VND89.42trillion, up 23%; total State budget at more than VND3.71trillion; State budget spending at more than VND1.47trillion; total capital for social development up 4.4%; the rate of laborers trained at 80%...
