Many practical activities done to care for workers during Workers' Month

Evening May 5, at the Provincial Labor Cultural Center, Binh Duong Provincial Labor Confederation held a launching ceremony for the Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene and Workers' Month 2024. The ceremony was attended by Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; Nguyen Thi My Hang, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of departments, branches, and trade union at all levels in the province.

Many practical activities

This year, Workers' Month was held in favorable conditions. Although there were many difficulties, trade unions in the province believe that the working class of Binh Duong, including union members and workers of Binh Duong province would make efforts to overcome difficulties and take advantage of favorable conditions, overcome challenges so that Workers' Month can achieve the goals set out under the theme "Worker Solidarity - Resolution implementation", reflecting all the goals set for Workers' Month 2024.

It can be said that Workers' Month is the inheritance from the eternal spirit of International Labor Day (May 1) and the glorious tradition of the working class and trade unions. This year's Workers' Month with the theme "Worker solidarity - Resolution implementation" was shown throughout all activities with the goal of creating new motivation and heightening spirit for union officials, union members, and workers in Binh Duong to become determined, make great efforts, and act together to realize the resolutions of trade union congresses at all levels and the Resolution of the 13th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2023-2028. In addition, Workers' Month 2024 is more meaningful because it took place on the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024), and when the 15th National Assembly holds the 7th session to discuss and consider passing many bills, including two laws that are of interest to workers nationwide: Social Insurance Law and Trade Union Law.

Over the years, the annual Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene and the Workers' Month have truly become the peak period to take care of workers, a major festival of the labor force in the entire province. In particular, this year is the first year that trade unions at all levels implement the Resolution of the 13th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, th Resolution of the 11th Provincial Trade Union Congress and resolutions of trade union congresses at all levels. This content has been taken by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor as the theme of the 2024 Workers' Month, "Worker Solidarity - Resolution Implementation" and the provincial trade unions will realize it through practical, meaning activities.

Targeted at workers

At the launching ceremony, Bui Thanh Nhan, Provincial Party Standing Member, Head of the Provincial Party Mass Mobilization Committee, emphasized that Party committees at all levels, authorities, mass organizations and people throughout the province are determined to emulate and successfully implement the goal, Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025, focus all resources to develop Binh Duong province into a industrial center, smart, civilized and modern urban area. By 2030, Binh Duong will become a modern industrial center, and by 2045 a smart urban area of the region and the whole country, improving the material and spiritual lives of its people.

“To achieve the above goals, it is required that we continue to make efforts to more drastically implement the proposed tasks and solutions, and in that effort there is a huge contribution from businesses and workers, an important force in the development process of Binh Duong province", Nhan affirmed.

In the implementing process of socio-economic development tasks, provincial leaders always create conditions for businesses to develop, while gradually stabilizing and improving the material and spiritual life of workers; propose solutions to solve difficulties for businesses and employees. Therefore, in direction and administration, provincial leaders pay special attention to policies, support for businesses and support for employees, especially in terms of living conditions, income, employment, housing, kindergarten, cultural activities, recreation, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene.

Together with contributing to the above activities and programs of the province, trade unions also had practical and timely activities to take care of union members and workers. For example, to protect the legal and legitimate rights and interests of workers, take care of the material and spiritual life of workers having difficult circumstances, far from home, suffering from labor accidents and occupational diseases, fatal disease…

In order for the Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene and the Workers' Month to truly achieve the highest results, Nhan asked all levels and sectors continue to enhance activities to support and accompany businesses, continue to remove difficulties to maintain, stabilize and develop business and production; In particular, proactively build a safe and effective working environment, creating the best conditions for businesses to operate. All levels and sectors, along with trade unions, need to have more practical activities to care for and support workers, especially workers having difficult circumstances or occupational accidents, so that workers can work and live in a peaceful and loving environment in Binh Duong...
