Tree-planting festival launched in Di An

*Thuan An’s Youth Union takes part in planting trees

Di An town’s People’s Committee, on May 19, held a ceremony to launch the 2016 tree-planting festival themed “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho” at Binh Thang ward’s Cultural Center on the occasion of his 126th birthday.

At the ceremony, the town’s People’s Committee called for individuals, households, agencies, schools…to take part in planting and tending trees in accordance with Uncle Ho’s teachings “For the sake of ten years, we must plant trees, for the sake of 100 years, we should cultivate people”, contributing to protecting the environment and meeting criteria on tree density of the locality on the way of developing into a third-class city.

Leaders of the town together Youth Union members, pupils and locals also took part in planting 126 trees at Binh Thang ward’s Cultural Center.

*The same day, Thuan An town’s Youth Union in collaboration with the town’s Division of Economics and An Son commune launched a youth work on planting trees for a green environment.

After the ceremony, the local Youth Union members planted 100 trees around An Son commune’s Cultural Center. The work was of great significance for keeping and protecting the environment, contributing to protecting and improving the quality of people’s life.
