Bau Bang reviews 5-year implementation of patriotic emulation movements, marks 5th anniversary of establishment

Early March 29, Bau Bang district’s People’s Committee held a conference to review the five-year implementation of patriotic emulation movements for the 2014-2019 period and celebrate the 5^th anniversary of the establishment of the district. The event was attended by Nguyen Minh Triet, former State President; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

After five years of establishment, with the determination of the whole political system, enterprises and people, the district has reached positive changes. In the future, this will be one of flexible industrial hubs of the province and the key southern zone. Over the past five years, the district’s annual industrial production value surged nearly 15%. The district also absorbed 448 domestic projects with a total registered capital of more than VND11.2trillion and 71 FDI ones capitalized at more than US$2.6billion. So far, all 7 communes of the district have been recognized as new-style rural ones by provincial People’s Committee and there has been a commune upgraded into a township. The district is striving to become a new-style rural district in 2020.

Speaking at the conference, Mr.Liem spoke highly of the efforts by the district’s Party, government and people in realizing patriotic emulation movements over the past time. He also emphasized that the district needs to boost sustainable economic growth, maintain achievements done in new-style rural construction, pay attention to developing socio-cultural fields, national defence-security…
