Being imbrued with the moral principals of “when drinking water, remember its source”, “when eating a fruit, remember who planted the tree”, along with mass organizations, sectors, departments and people nationwide, youngsters in Binh Duong have organized numerous activities paying deep tribute to heroic martyrs, heroic Vietnamese mothers, war invalids, martyrs’ families and those who have rendered services to the nation on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947-July 27, 2017).

In July, the month of “paying debt of gratitude” activities, youngsters across the province have implemented a variety of practical activities to pay tribute to forefathers. They have begun realizing journeys “following the footsteps of heroes”, launched by provincial Youth Union right from June. Accordingly, many return-to-the root trips were organized.

Thuan An town’s Youth Union presents gifts to policy beneficiary families

Thuan An town’s Youth Union have just held a “Red journey” gratitude festival at Thuan An Hoa War Zone historical relic site. Here, the local Youth Union members offered incense and paid wreaths to commemorate heroic martyrs; exchanged with veterans and the offspring of needy policy beneficiary families with good academic results. The town’s Young Pioneer Organization also gave 11 gifts for policy beneficiary families with difficult circumstances together with 9 gifts and scholarships for the offspring of policy beneficiary families. Additionally, the town’s Youth Unions at all levels visited, presented gifts to the local heroic Vietnamese mothers and policy beneficiary families while providing them with free medical check-ups and medicine…

Whilst, Tan Uyen town’s Youth Federation, Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs jointly launched a Green Sunday campaign by planting green trees at town’s Martyrs’ Cemetery. The local Youth Union members cleaned up martyrs’ tombs and then planted 355 green plants at the cemetery. Nguyen Le Huu Bao, Secretary of Tan Uyen town’s Party Committee will organize such significant activities as providing free medical check-ups, medicine for 100 policy beneficiaries and poor people; visiting, presenting gifts to 4 policy beneficiary families; realizing a youth flower garden following Uncle Ho’s teachings at Vinh Tan commune’s monument to martyrs.

This year, provincial Youth Union has organized many significant activities towards the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day. Particularly, provincial Youth Union paid a visit to former Youth Union cadres belonging policy beneficiary families in TDM city, towns of Thuan An, Tan Uyen, Ben Cat and Dau Tieng district. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of provincial Youth Union said that on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Social Affairs (July 27), provincial Youth Union has instructed its branches to deploy many meaningful programs expressing the moral principle of “when drinking water, remember its source”. Among them, provincial-level “Journey following the footsteps of heroes” is the most highlighted program that will take place at Chanh Phu Hoa ward’s Doan Thi Lien park in Ben Cat town on July 23. The local Youth Union members will offer incense and pay wreaths at the statue of heroic martyr Doan Thi Lien, present gifts to policy beneficiary families, revolutionary contributors and books to children. In addition, they will inaugurate a youth flower garden following Uncle Ho’s teachings, organize summer activities, guide 100 pupils how to wash hands by soap; provide free medical check-ups and medicine for 400 people; visit heroic Vietnamese mothers; upgrade Doan Thi Lien park…

Specially, provincial Youth Union will organize a ceremony lighting candles to pay tribute to martyrs and a requiem for martyrs under the theme of “Youth with tribute” at provincial Martyrs’ Cemetery on July 25.
