Di An’s Youth Union pays attention to taking care of young workers

Di An town’s Youth Union and associations have focused on taking care of young workers via many practical programs, contributing to the local socio-economic development.

Taking care of young workers’ lives

Di An town now has a total of 140 association branches for young workers and 12 Youth Union branches in businesses, established from the Project on Uniting and Gathering Young Workers.

Pham Chien Thang, Secretary of Di An town’s Youth Union said that through uniting and gathering young workers, the town’s Youth Union and associations have got involved in seeking, introducing jobs to young workers living away from home, thereby contributing to supplying enterprises with human resources…

Over the past five years, the town’s Youth Union and associations organized 10 job festivals, took part in 45 job transaction floors, introduced jobs to 240 youths, especially helped 42 youths get stable jobs. The town’s Youth Union also held many programs on vocational orientation, linked with craft villages, prestigious vocational training schools to introduce jobs to young workers.

Especially, Di An town’s Youth Union set up 6 model youth lodging facilities; mobilized organizations, individuals to donate 6 houses of compassion and “dream” rooms to needy workers; established the local fund for alien young workers; organized a variety of cultural-sports activities for workers living away from home and offered thousands of gifts to young workers with difficult circumstances.

For ethnic minority youths, the town’s Youth Union over the past time held traditional Tet festivals, exchange programs for them while giving school fee exemption and reduction for their offspring. Arinfin, Head of Di An ward’s sub-union for ethnic minority youths said that over the past time, members of the sub-union also received more interests from the local Youth Union and associations. This was the joy of young workers when moving to Binh Duong for living and working.

Attaching special importance to education

The town’s Youth Union has also attached special importance to education of the tradition, revolutionary ideology and patriotism among young workers via the “connecting young workers” journey returning to “red addresses”. The journey is regularly co-held by the town’s Youth Union and Division of Culture-Information from 2 to 3 times a year. Thought such journeys, the local young workers visited town-based relic sites, namely Chau Thoi pagoda, Di An communal house, Mach Mang stream…They also had a chance to take part in games, talk shows, exchange programs…, thereby helping them not only relax, study but also being close to Di An homeland.

Under the Project on Gathering and Uniting Young Workers, the town’s Youth Unions and associations at all levels have concentrated on law dissemination among young workers by many forms. They have also made dissemination, orientation about the values of true-kindness-beauty in life and useful skills, helping them get necessary knowledge in order to feel secure in working…
