Exploring solutions to improve PAPI and PCI

In the morning of May 22, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to hear departments and agencies report the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) and Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in; Results of evaluation and ranking of information technology application level in 2018.

According to the report of 2018, the province's PAPI index has improved significantly, many indicators and contents increased compared to 2017. According to the results of the results, the PAPI in 2018 and Binh Duong totaled 43, 50/80 points (33.49 points in 2017), ranked 39/63 cities and provinces, increased by 23 places compared to 2017. Binh Duong has 3 content indexes increased compared to 2017: Participation of grassroots people, controlling corruption and public administrative procedures. There are 3 indexes of reduction in content: transparency, accountability, and provision of public services. The province's PCI in 2018 increased by 8 ranks compared to 2017, returning to the top 10 provinces and cities in the country with the 6th position and the top in the Southeast region, with positive evaluation results of enterprises on the flexibility and creativity of the provincial government and the openness and transparency of the business environment. Announcement of the Ministry of Information and Communications on the evaluation results of the level of information technology application (IT) of provinces and cities under central authority in 2018, recognizing the positive change of Binh Duong province . Overall, the level of IT application in Binh Duong ranked 4/63 provinces and cities, up 7 places compared to 2017.

After listening to the participants discussing solutions to improve the indicators, especially the component indicators affecting the environment to attract investment of the province, support and create favorable conditions for production enterprises, business and electronic government building, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem asked departments and agencies to pay attention to solutions to improve PAPI and PCI . In particular, focusing on the settlement of administrative procedures in the direction of quick, effective, creating trust among the people; attaching importance to implemented information technology application schemes and programs to improve the quality of electronic administrative settlement service.
