Food safety violations penalized

In May, provincial Market Management Office continued to collaborate with functional agencies of district, town and city levels in the province to strengthen inspection of food safety at conventional markets.

Accordingly, 125 inspections were conducted, 17 violations detected and handled, and total fine of 135.5 million VND was collected. According to provincial Market Management Office, through a quick test of 65 food samples including fresh noodles, yellow noodles, and cakes of all kinds..., all were positive for banned substances such as fenugreek, formaldehyde, hypochlorid. The authority advised owners of infringing establishments to voluntarily destroy products containing banned substances.
