Meeting to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Vietnam Communist Party and welcome Lunar New Year 2020

On January 17, at Provincial Exhibition and Convention Center, Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee solemnly held a meeting to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Vietnam Communist Party (3 Feb 1930 - 3 Feb 2020) and celebrate Lunar New Year 2020. Attending the meeting were: Nguyễn Minh Triết, former member of the Politburo, former President; Trần Văn Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial National Assembly delegation; Trần Thanh Liêm, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Võ Văn Minh, Chairman of Provincial People's Council; Nguyễn Văn Lộc, Head of Provincial Party Mass Mobilization Committee, Chairman of Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Vietnamese heroic mothers; revolutionary veterans, People's Armed Forces Heroes, Labor Heroes; leaders, former provincial leaders.

Trần Văn Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial National Assembly delegation, delivered a speech to review the 90-year journey of the Party.

Talking about the Party's glorious 90-year journey, Mr. Nam emphasized that the foundation of Vietnam Communist Party plus the fact that the Party political program determined the right way, from the moment of its birth, to be the national liberation in the direction of proletariat revolution, was a strong foundation for the new Vietnam Communist Party to lead the Vietnamese revolutionary movement; tackled the crisis of the revolutionary way, the revolutionary leadership at the early 20th century, opening a new path and direction for Vietnam. This way facilitated the gathering of forces and the solidarity and unity of the whole nation to share the same ideology and actions to carry out the great revolution and win great victories. These were: the victory of the August Revolution in 1945, smashing the colonial rule and feudalism, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, bringing our nation into an era of independence and freedom; the victory of the resistance wars, especially the epic victory of Dien Bien Phu in 1954; the spring victory in 1975, which completely liberated the South and reunited the country; it was the victory of the two wars to protect the southwest and northern border in 1979, upholding the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity of the Fatherland, while doing noble missions to help the Cambodia eliminate the genocide disaster. In particular, these are also the great achievements of our country during 34 renovation years to eradicate poverty, backwardness, underdevelopment; material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved, and the position and prestige of our country in the international arena have been heightened.

Due to the need for a head office to directly lead the growing revolutionary movement in the province, in Feb 1936, Thu Dau Mot Provincial Party Committee was established. The birth of Thu Dau Mot Provincial Party Committee marked a major advancement in the local revolutionary movement, making it an important part of the Vietnamese revolution. Under the provincial Party leadership, Thu Dau Mot people followed, stayed side by side, and join hands with provincial Party Committee to create many glorious victories. The period of forty-five years after the liberation day was a journey that Song Be - Binh Duong Party and people had gone through, overcome many difficulties and challenges. The fight against poverty and backwardness was also a difficult battle that contained challenges and demanded sacrifices.

To uphold the solidarity, creativity and heroic spirit, the Party, army and people of Song Be - Binh Duong put forward, concretized and creatively implemented resolutions, guidelines and policies of the Party and State, overcame many difficulties and challenges, gained outstanding achievements in socio-economic areas.

Binh Duong Party Committee led the people to create breakthrough results in socio-economic development. From a poor province with a predominant agricultural economy, Binh Duong is now a developing province with high speed of industrialization and urbanization in the Southern Key Economic Region, are step by step integrating into the international economy, making important contributions to the overall achievements of the country.

The provincial leaders award certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in "Smart Mass Mobilization".

In 2019, the complicated world and regional context affecting Vietnam in general and Binh Duong in particular, abnormal weather situation, African swine fever outbreak, falling price of some agricultural products, and increasing population pressure created many difficulties and challenges. However, with the solidarity and determination of the whole political system, business community and people in the province, the socio-economic, national defense and security situation, and the construction of the province's political system continued to change positively and gained comprehensive results across many fields.

Along with economic growth, the province always pays attention to social and cultural development; takes good care of policy people, settles well employment and social security policies. Political security, social order and safety in the province was secured. Foreign relations continued to be strengthened. The Party building and the political system construction also gained many good results, notably streamlining organizational apparatus and staff; arranging job positions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in organization and implementation; the development of party organizations and members in non-State-owned enterprises.

On this occasion, Provincial Party Standing Committee granted Party badges to 21 members. The provincial leaders awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in "Smart Mass Mobilization" 2019.
