Mobilizing resources to take care of young workers

In the first half of 2018, provincial Steering Board of the Project on gathering and uniting young workers for the period of 2016-2020 and its branches well realized a task of educating and taking care of young workers, upholding the role of the Youth Union and associations in creating useful playgrounds for them…

The “Weekend playground” program was organized in Ben Cat town’s Phu An commune with the participation of more than 100 Youth Union members and young workers. The program took place very animatedly with significant activities, contributing to enriching the spiritual and material lives of young workers. This was one of practical activities done by provincial Youth Development Support and Consulting Office under provincial Project on gathering and uniting young workers for the period of 2016-2020.

Doan Nam Le Thien, Head of provincial Youth Union’s Board for gathering and uniting youths has coordinated with sectors and departments to absorb social resources to take care of young workers. Particularly, provincial Business Bloc’s Youth Union implemented a project on supporting poor youths to rise up out of poverty. Ben Cat town teamed up with provincial Labor Union’s Board of Policies and Laws to make inspection tours on responding to the Workers’ Month, the Action Month on Labor Safety and Hygiene; took part in generating jobs for 2,432 workers. Whilst, Phu Giao, North Tan Uyen districts in collaboration with the local Divisions of Health organized programs on education of reproductive health for young workers; worked with provincial Youth Federation to realize the “Border March” program in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang, offered 2 saving books, 10 gifts to needy youths…

The province has also attached special importance to law dissemination among youths at lodging facilities. So far, provincial Steering Board of the Projects and its branches have organized 25 propaganda shows with the participation of 10,500 young workers; delivered more than 15,200 leaflets on the Law on Marriage-Family, the Law on Road Traffic…to sub-youth unions, lodging facilities, companies and schools in the province, absorbing 21,300 Youth Union members.

In the first half of 2018, provincial Steering Board of the Project and its branches effectively realized many activities. Provincial Youth Unions at all levels donated 8,520 gifts worth nearly VND1billion to young workers; mobilized organizations and individuals to present 3 charity houses and 8 dream rooms to Youth Union members and young workers with difficult circumstances; provided free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts for nearly 4,000 needy people, children and young workers with a total expense of nearly VND700million. In addition, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels mobilized organizations and individuals to donate 14,608 gifts worth nearly VND2billion to female workers who could not return home for Tet; took regular care of female workers with difficult circumstances…

Nguyen Tan Dat, Chairman of provincial Youth Federation, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee said that provincial Youth Union and Youth Federation’s projects on “Improving legal awareness among youths”, “Gathering and uniting young workers”…have been associated with youths’ needs and benefits. They have attached special importance to both content and form, contributing to improving the quality of youths’ material and spiritual lives…
