National Clean Water and Environmental Week 2019 launched

Early May 14, provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DoARD) in collaboration with North Tan Uyen district’s People’s Committee held a ceremony to launch the National Clean Water and Environment Week under the theme of “Safe water for the community’s health”.

Attending the ceremony were Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial People’s Committee; leaders of provincial People’s Council, sectors, departments, localities together with Youth Union members and locals.

At the ceremony, representative of provincial DoARD said that along with socio-economic development, environmental pollution is an urgent issue at present. Hence, the event aims to raise public awareness of protecting the environment and water resources; mobilize people to sign commitments on environmental protection; set up green volunteer squads, volunteer groups on environmental protection…

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.Dung called on all people to protect the environment, water resources, contributing to changing their quality of life. After the ceremony, delegates also took part in a parade through main streets to propagandize and make environmental hygiene.
