“Red journey” tribute festival held

Thuan An town’s Youth Union held the “red journey” tribute festival 2017 at Thuan An Hoa War Zone relic site yesterday morning on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947-July 27, 2017).

Accordingly, the local Youth Union members offered incense and laid wreaths at the relic site to commemorate heroic martyrs. They also exchanged with two guests, including lieutenant-colonel Vu Hanh, a soldier of the Quang Tri citadel and Ho Thi Kim Cuong, a poor-but-excellent pupil; held many delegations to visit and present gifts to 70 heroic Vietnamese mothers, policy beneficiary families…

On this occasion, the town’s Youth Union and Young Pioneer Organization gave 11 gifts for policy beneficiary families with difficult circumstances and 9 others for the offspring of policy beneficiary families.

*The same day, the Youth Unions of Binh Hoa ward and Thuan An town’s Health Agency jointly provided free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts worth VND100,000 each for 150  policy beneficiaries, ex-youth volunteers and poor people in the ward.

The two units also signed a joint program on activities for the sake of the community.

*The Youth Unions of Thuan An town’s People’s Court, Law’s Enforcement Agency and Thanh Binh quarter in An Thanh ward yesterday also held a delegation to visit and present gifts to heroic Vietnamese mother Huynh Thi Tieu.
