The voter voice

Update: 09-04-2021 | 11:35:37

Being open-minded, friendly, and heart-devotion on issues of voters’ concerns but also frankly point out issues that unknown voters can raise awareness and actions. Those are what I feel about Binh Duong provincial People's Council member Nguyen Van Vo who had 10 years of duty representing the will and aspirations of the people.

Proactive supervision

Binh Duong provincial People's Council member Nguyen Van Vo has been a familiar figure to voters during questioning and answering sessions of Binh Duong provincial People's Council at the meetings. Many issues that he cared about in relation to social security and environmental sanitation have been agreed by the people. And, I met him on his fulfillment of a public representative. Sitting next to a cup of tea, he wittily said: "Two terms are just a flash of time; that’s the 10 years of listening to the voters’ voice."

Continuing with his story, Ven told us that he was nominated by Binh Duong provincial Veterans’ Association to participate in Binh Duong provincial People's Council representatives from the 2011-2016 tenure and was trusted by voters to continue his 2026-2021 tenure. Over the past 10 years, as a representative of the will and aspirations of the people, he himself has had many happy and sad moments. For him, the happiest times were when the problems that pressing voters had been thoroughly solved by departments, branches and localities, bringing practical benefits to voters. Typically, the change of benefit codes for people with meritorious services to the revolution from HT3 to HT2 in the health insurance card (enjoying 95% of the cost of medical examination and treatment at the right level). When there was a policy, but the authorities were still slow to implement, making the people with meritorious, he, representing the voice of voters and after questioning, quickly resolved the problems of the Social Security Administration to make voters very excited. He also "showed off" his resolutions of the pension regime to ensure benefits for the voters.

Elaboration to the public

In 10 years, being attached to the duties of the delegates, there had been meetings with voters, Vo also frankly pointed out the incorrect opinions of the voters; at the same time, he clearly explained the issues to the roots. Recalling these stories, he explained: “Most voters, when reflecting to the delegates, have derived from aspirations and frustrations. But there were also people who come from personal motives. In many cases, this was considered as a place for relief. Therefore, as a delegate, I also boldly answered so that the voters can know clearly and understand the Party's policies and guidelines as well as the policies and laws of the State."

Sharing his experience as an elected delegate, Nguyen Van Vo said that in order to fulfill the role, first of all, the delegates must have the knowledge, qualifications, courage, and dare to speak while sustaining to the work for best results. In order to act as a bridge between the Party, the State and the people, the first important thing for each member of the People's Council is that the people understand the people, thereby bringing the aspirations and requirements of the people to the Party and State. At the same time, a member of the People's Council must also be a firm grasp of the Party's undertakings and lines, the policies and laws of the State. In this way, the transmission, analysis and clarification of the undertakings and policies of the Party and State let the people understand so that the people can implement. Moreover, delegates must always stick to the thorough settlement of the authorities in the issues raised by voters. "When the issues of concern to the people have been basically resolved, the satisfaction of voters and the people with agencies and governments at all levels would been raised markedly," Ven affirmed.

During his ten years working as a member of Binh Duong provincial People's Council, Vo was satisfied with what he had done. He had contributed a voice for the common good of the locality, as well as contributed to bringing voters' voices to the competent authorities for settlement.
